PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extraction limit detecting device for exactly detecting the limit of extraction of carbonated drink from a tank by the supply of a gas into the tank filled with the carbonated drink. SOLUTION: The extraction limit detecting device includes a light emitting element 53 for emitting light across a light transmissive extraction pipe 5 used for extracting draft beer from a beer barrel 1, and a light receiving element 55 for receiving light emitted from the light emitting element 53 and transmitted across the extraction pipe 5. The extraction limit detecting device also includes a control section 63 for detecting a change in an amount of light received by the light receiving element 53 when the gas passes through a space 5a in the passage of the extraction pipe 5, and a speaker 21 and an alarm lamp 23 for providing warning in response to the detection. The optical axis of the light emitting element 53 and the optical axis of the light receiving element 55 are shifted out of the center line C of the extraction pipe 5 in the direction of the diameter of the extraction pipe 5.
