<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate purchase of content data. <P>SOLUTION: One sample data is played back from a recording medium 18 that records a plurality of encrypted music data, a plurality of sample data and purchase right data. In response to an input from the outside, part of the purchase right data is updated, and after the update of the purchase right data is completed, the encrypted music data is decrypted.
