PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pasting device and a pasting method by which interference of a peel plate with a suction device can easily be avoided. SOLUTION: This pasting device 10 comprises the suction device 12 equipped with a suction surface 25A which sucks a label L, and a driving device 13 which turns the suction device 12. In the suction surface 25A, the right region of the suction surface 25A is made to face the upper surface side of the distal end of the peel plate 21 when the label L is sucked. From this state, the driving device 13 moves a rotating shaft 35 to separate the suction surface 25A and the peel plate 21 from each other while rotating the suction device 12 about the rotating shaft 35.
