PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfume quality-retaining agent which can be used in household articles including air care products and maintains exhalation of fragrance which shows little variation in perfume quality over a specified period of time. SOLUTION: At least one alkoxy benzene represented by formula (I) is added to and blended with a household product, wherein -R<SB>1</SB>and -R<SB>2</SB>may be the same or different and each is a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group; -R<SB>3</SB>is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group, a 1-4C alkyl group or the formula: -OR<SB>4</SB>; and R<SB>4</SB>is a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group.
