PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous adhesive composition excellent in initial adhesive strength and heat resistance. SOLUTION: The aqueous adhesive composition comprises a polychloroprene latex A produced by subjecting 100 pts. mass of the total of a chloroprene monomer or chloroprene and a monomer copolymerizable with chloroprene to emulsion polymerization in the presence of 2-8 pts. mass emulsifier including an alkali rosinate and a polychloroprene latex B produced by subjecting 100 pts. mass of the total of a chloroprene monomer or chloroprene and a monomer polymerizable with chloroprene to emulsion polymerization in the presence of 0.5-15 pts. mass nonionic emulsifier represented by formula (1), provided that in formula (1), R denotes a hydrophobic group having at least one selected from the group consisting of a benzene ring and a naphthalene ring which may be substituted; R<SB>1</SB>denotes a hydrogen atom or a 1-5C alkyl group; and n denotes an integer of 1-200.
