PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal compound satisfying a plurality of properties in properties that the compound is polymerized at a room temperature, polymerized even in air, readily polymerizable, has a wide temperature range of liquid crystal phase, is chemically stable, is colorless, readily soluble in a solvent, has excellent compatibility with other polymerizable compounds and has small adhesive tension to a supporting substrate and a polymer obtained from the compound. SOLUTION: The compound is represented by structural formula (1) or structural formula (2) (R<SP>1</SP>is fluorine, an alkyl or the like; R<SP>2</SP>is hydrogen, an alkyl or the like; R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each hydrogen, fluorine, an alkyl or the like; A is 1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,4-phenylene or the like: X is a single bond, (CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>or the like; P is an alkylene or the like; m and n are each 0, 1 or 2).
