PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic which has high oxygen permeability and good coating film-formability, and never damages nails, even when used as a manicure preparation over a long period. SOLUTION: This manicure preparation was obtained by charging 40 pts. wt. of tris(trimethylsiloxy)silylpropyl methacrylate, 54 pts. wt. of methyl methacrylate, 5 pts. wt. of hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 1 pt. wt. of 2-methacryloyloxyethyl acid phosphate, 110 pts. wt. of butyl acetate, 70 pts. wt. of ethyl acetate, 30 pts. wt. of ethanol as solvents, and 0.5 pt. wt. of 2,2'-azobisisobutylonitrile in a 500 mL flask, bubbling the charged mixture with nitrogen gas, sealing the flask, transferring the flask into a constant temperature bath, heating the mixture to polymerize the monomers at 60°C for 15 hours under stirring, cooling the flask with water after the polymerization and then taking out the polymerized resin together with the solvents from the flask.
