PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder of a folding machine for improving folding accuracy of a section, by preventing the section from being partially pushed in a cutout part formed on a cylinder surface. SOLUTION: The cutout part 4b formed in the axial direction of a folding cylinder 1 opposed to an insertion knife 10 existing in a parallel one-time folding position, and the cutout part 4c formed in the axial direction of the folding cylinder 1 opposed to the insertion knife 10 existing in a delta folding position, are formed over the substantially whole area in the width direction of a sheet-like material on a guide surface 4 formed on a peripheral surface of the folding cylinder 1 and guiding the sheet-like material held by a needle 7.
