PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift device to easily prevent erroneous operation of various kinds of operation switches when it is unnecessary. SOLUTION: The shift device 1 is equipped with a shift knob 2 of a shift operation member which selects either one of a plurality of ranges provided on an automatic shift, a slide block 3 sliding interlocking with the operation of the shift knob 2, and the operation switch 4 of instruments mounted on a vehicle. When the shift knob 2 selects a predetermined range in the plurality of ranges, the slide block 3 hides in an instrument panel IP of the vehicle. When it selects other ranges, the slide block 3 has an upper surface 31 appearing from the instrument panel IP, and the operation switch 4 is disposed on the upper surface 31.
