<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition which is not easily degraded with even laser light in the range near UV without deteriorating moldability, heat resistance, mechanical strengthes, and low birefringence, shows only extremely small change in optical performance while in use, can maintain its especially high light transmission, is not easy for foreign substances to stick to the surface of when it is formed a molded item such as an optical device and the like, and is suitable for an optical device, to provide an optical device obtained by molding the resin compound and to provide an optical pick-up apparatus using this optical device. <P>SOLUTION: This resin composition is a thermoplastic resin composition containing a polymer having a predetermined structure and two predetermined light stabilizers in a predetermined weight ratio out of hindered amine light stabilizers whose molecular weight are 400-5,000.
