<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of pass/fail determination and make it possible to easily identify a cause of fail determination in an automatic testing device for testing controllers for vehicles. <P>SOLUTION: The monitoring function of a controller for vehicles is utilized to take the monitor data of the controller into the testing device. When pass/fail determination is made, the monitor data are additionally considered to enhance the reliability of the testing device. When the result of pass/fail determination is fail, the state of control at that time is recorded and made good use of in troubleshooting.
