PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a download method by which a client system does not download unnecessary content among contents stored in a server system, a download system, the client system and the server system. SOLUTION: A download reception control program of the client system receives (a step S61e) a download descriptor (Download Descriptor, called DD, henceforth) of a content of which the download is requested from the server system, compares the received DD with a DD already stored in the present system before its reception and selects the content to be downloaded or a partial content (a step S61f).
