PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of any trouble in the operation of a communication system even when a device under operation is switched to a device in a stand-by status, and to realize this by simple configurations. SOLUTION: Communication paths E and F are selected by switches 21 and 22 during the fail-over of a mail server 31 and a mail server 32. A temporary saving server 50 stores an electronic mail received during fail-over from a mail accepting server 10 in a disk storage 60, and transmits the electronic mail stored in the disk storage 60 and a writing request in a disk storage 40 to a mail server(for example, mail server 32) switched to a main system after the fail-over is completed. The mail server 32 receives the electronic mail and the writing request from the temporary saving server 50, and writes the received electronic mail in the disk storage 40, and updates storage contents.
