PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal strip winding device capable of winding a metal strip without causing any cave-in defect occurring, in particular, in the vicinity of a far-most tail end when winding the metal strip into a coil state. SOLUTION: The metal strip winding device is provided additionally with a cave-in preventive device composed of: a rotatable press roll 3 to press an outer face of the metal strip 1 in the device for continuously winding the metal strip 1 by a tension reel; a first cylinder 4 to advance/retract the press roll 3 to/from the tension reel; a guide plate 6 which is oscillated with its axis shared with that of the press roll to guide the advance of the metal strip 1; and a second cylinder 5 to freely oscillate the guide plate 6 around the axis of the press roll 3.
