PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly vacuum cleaner, which can choose a cyclone dust collection system or a paper pack dust collection system in a unit of vacuum cleaner according to use and purpose. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with a dust collection case 11 which communicates with a suction side and a suction device 3 of an electric blower 12 and can be removed from a cleaner body 2, and the dust collection case 11 is provided with an inlet 13 communicating with the suction device 3, a dust collection case body 14 which has an opening in the suction side of the electric blower 12, a lid 15 which opens/closes the opening of the dust collection case body 14, a cyclone type dust collection assembly 9 which composes a cyclone system detachably attached in the dust collection case body 14 and a paper pack assembly 32, then, the cyclone type dust collection assembly 19 and the paper pack assembly 32 can be mutually exchanged.
