PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformed rice expressed with a large amount of a proteasome subunit gene, and a method for accumulating stress-induced substances such as abscisic acid, by using the transformed rice. SOLUTION: The proteasome is a peptidase capable of decomposing most of metabolism-regulating proteins at a high speed. The transformed rice is prepared by re-introducing a proteasome subunit originating from rice, into the rice by adding a highly expressing promotor. The transformed rice shows resistances under various stress conditions. Thereby, it is possible to utilize the property of the transformed rice for accumulating the stress-induced substance in its plant body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
