PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network printing system whose through-put is excellent as a whole, and a printer and a print data preparation device capable of configuring this system.

SOLUTION: A load related with RIP processing is monitored by an RIP monitoring part 240 installed in a printer, and when an excess load is detected, it is informed that the RIP processing is performed at a print data preparing device side from an RIP load situation judging part 250 through a network communication means 210.
