PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article management system easily acquiring and managing information relating to the feature of an article.

SOLUTION: A peripheral article detection part 11 provided in a portable terminal 10 or the like detects an article present around a user and acquires the article ID. A position/time acquisition part 12 acquires its position and time by utilizing a GPS or the like. The information is preserved in an article history data base 25 as article history information. An accompanying article judgement part 21 judges the accompanying article of the user from the articles included in the article history information. An outing history management part 22 generates outing history information indicating the conditions at the time of outing of the user from the article history information and preserves it in an outing condition data base 26.
