PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intrusion warning sensor with high workability whose erroneous operation hardly occurs. SOLUTION: An intrusion warning sensor 1 is provided with a light emitting source 5 installed inside a building for irradiating an object space including an opening being an intrusion path to a building with strength modulation rays of light whose strength periodically changes and a light detecting element 3 where a plurality of sensing parts for generating electric outputs corresponding to received light quantity are arrayed for imaging the object space. This intrusion warning sensor is also provided with a depth map sensor part 2 for converting the phase difference of the strength modulation rays of light until the rays of light with which the object space has been irradiated from the light emitting source 5 are reflected by the object in the object space, and received by each sensing part into a distance to the object, and for generating a depth map whose pixel value is a distance value and a signal processing circuit 10 for extracting pixels where the difference of pixel values between the adjacent pixels exceeds a predetermined threshold from the depth map inputted from the depth map sensor part 2, and for detecting the part surrounded by the extracted pixels as an opening, and for detecting the existence of an intruding object in the neighborhood of the opening from the depth map.
