<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for determining old or new, because write-in to a flag is difficult in a multi-valued memory although an 'old' flag is written in a block which stores old data when data stored in a flash memory are updated. <P>SOLUTION: When data stored in a memory card using flash memory by relating to a logical address are updated, the newest data are stored in the first usable and unused block following to an ascending order starting from the physical address of the block in which data before updating are stored. When a block storing the newest data of a certain logical address is sought for, a value with the maximum physical address in the usable and unused block of the flash memory is sought for, and it is determined that the data are stored in the first block of the blocks storing data of the logical address sought for following to a descending order direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
