SOLUTION: The friction material 11 is annularly punched from the woven cloth W impregnated with a thermosetting resin and hardened by pressing work. The tissue of the cloth W for the friction material having high weaving cooling efficiency is multilayered with three plane-woven tissues W1, W2 and W3. The woven cloth W has threaded weft clearances 12 and threaded warp clearances 13. The weft clearance 12 is formed by lacking wefts Y1, Y2 and Y3.
