PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push-pull lock which has a high-quality and high-performance child safety lock device with no backlash, play, etc. SOLUTION: An operation needle 51 operated by a person, which is provided in such a manner as to be arranged in the state of being covered with a push handle 22 of the push-pull lock 20 or a pull handle 24 thereof, is movably implanted in a mounting seat of the handle 22 or the handle 24; and a lock plate 53, which is connected to a part inside the mounting seat of the operation needle 51, can be engaged with/disengaged from a lever 35 of a lever arm mechanism 34 for driving a latch 42. In engagement, the unlocking of the latch 42 is inhibited by regulating a handle operation, and an external operation knob part 52 of the operation needle 51 is brought into butt contact with a protrusive piece 54 which is formed on the push handle 22 or the pull handle 24, so that the handle operation can be regulated in cooperation with the locking action of the lock plate 53.
