PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact test device and an impact test method capable of obtaining an impact stress-strain characteristic or the like when applying impact force onto an impact absorbing material. SOLUTION: This impact test device/method is constituted of a holding member 3 for holding a test piece 2 at an arbitrary holding force, an impact loading member 4 for loading the impact force onto the test piece 2, a force sensor 5 for detecting the impact force applied to the test piece 2 by the impact loading member 4, a high-speed camera 6 for detecting a displacement of the test piece 2 when loaded with the impact force by the impact loading member 4, and an output device part 7 for synchronizing a signal from the force sensor 5 with a signal from the high-speed camera 6, and for outputting an impact stress-strain characteristic curve when the impact force acts on the test piece 2.
