PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable summation / difference values of two axis measurement signals to be calculated at a high speed by using a low-cost circuit small in dimensions. SOLUTION: A device for outputting summation / difference values of two-axes measurement signals is provided, which inputs counter pulses from displacement detectors (10A, 10B) corresponding to two axes and outputs a summation or difference value of the two axes, and which is equipped with a counter 32 for counting the summation or difference of the two-axes measurement signals; and a summation / difference count control circuit 30 which controls count modes of the counter in response to the state of the two-axes measurement signals.
