PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for reading out a plurality of storage phosphor panels which are used for the individual usage of radiation and consecutively exposed to X-rays so as to avoid requirement for exchanging radiation transmission filters when the exposed storage phosphor panels are scanned. SOLUTION: The system includes an array of transducer elements for detecting light emitted upon stimulation and for converting the light into a signal representation of an image, and a filtering means for preventing light emitted by stimulating radiation from being detected by the transducer elements, wherein the ratio of the transmittance of the stimulating radiation at the stimulation emission wavelength to the transmittance of light stimulated in a wavelength range of 350 nm to 500 nm is less than 10<SP>-6</SP>, and the ratio is specified by a formula (1):Tr(λst (nm))/Tr(λx (nm))<10<SP>-6</SP>. The transducer element is a charge coupled device (CCD), and the filtering means contains at least one organic transition metal dye.
