PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inter-vehicle distance control device capable of preventing the distance from an own vehicle to a preceding vehicle from becoming shorter than a target inter-vehicle distance even when inter-vehicle distance detecting performance is deteriorated due to rainfall or the like. SOLUTION: The inter-vehicle distance control device 100 controls the inter-vehicle distance so that it becomes the target inter-vehicle distance when the inter-vehicle distance between the preceding vehicle and the own vehicle measured by using a reflection wave of an irradiation wave irradiated from the own vehicle is within a limit inter-vehicle distance, and releases inter-vehicle distance control when the inter-vehicle distance exceeds the limit inter-vehicle distance.
