<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which readily controls color tone for obtaining a desired emission color. <P>SOLUTION: The light emission device has a light emission element 10 for emitting blue light and a phosphor 11 which absorbs a part of light from the light emission element 10, carries out wavelength conversion and emits light of a longer wavelength region than light of the light emission element 10. Light emitted from the phosphor 11 has a light emission peak wavelength in a visible light region. The phosphor 11 has a YAG phosphor which emits green color and a nitride phosphor which emits red color. In the nitride phosphor, the light emission peak wavelength differs by 10 nm or more in Ca<SB>2</SB>Si<SB>5</SB>N<SB>8</SB>:Eu and (Ca<SB>0.7</SB>Sr<SB>0.3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>Si<SB>5</SB>N<SB>8</SB>:Eu. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
