<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge a battery with electric power generated by a generator when an engine is stopped, even in a vehicle on which only one of electricity-accumulating devices including the battery and a capacitor is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: An MG_ECU300 prevents a boosting converter from shifting from a boosting operation to a voltage reducing operation so that any electric charge may not be supplied from a smoothing capacitor to the battery, while the engine is driven (YES at S100) or when there is a command for the engine to stop or when stopping the engine is processed (S110).
