PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a trouble encountered in repeated copying or transmission by storing once-read picture information as backup on a storage memory. SOLUTION: A picture processor has: a means reading a picture; the storage memory storing the read picture; a temporary memory temporarily storing the information before being stored on the storage memory; and a printing means and/or a communication means printing the picture information on picture information recording paper. The picture processor further has: a means storing the picture information stored on the temporary memory, yet not stored on the storage memory on the storage memory; an erasure means erasing the picture information in the order of the picture information having the lower priority once the storage memory has a specified storage value; and a means specifying the picture information stored on the storage means.
