PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for accompanying an object person of a mobile object by which walk is easily predicted irrespective of an age or motion of the object person and without equipping any special tool, etc. and the walk of the object person is tracked. SOLUTION: In the method and device for accompanying the object person where the mobile object 301 automatically moves with the object person 101, control is performed so that the mobile object 301 moves along a walk path of the object person 101 by detecting a walk state of the object person 101, detecting walk speed and walk path of the object person 101 and predicting a walk prediction area of the object person 101 based on information about the detected walk state, walk speed and path.
