摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow miniaturization of a device in addition to enhancing accuracy of detection for light reception by containing a pointing detecting function in level detection function of a received ray system and adjusting an amount of light receiving to a given value. SOLUTION: A detector 5 of light reception has a detecting surface acquiring a light receiving level by receiving the light reception spot due to a laser beam sent from a target object to be ranged. The detecting surface is moved to place appropriately to a direction of optical axis of the light reception spot or a surface direction perpendicular to the optical axis by a position adjustment device 9 of the detector of light reception controlled by a controller 8. Accordingly, the light receiving level detected as a measurement arrest signal can be set at the given value. Next, since variations of an amount receiving light level is obtained within a scanning field of the detecting surface by scanning the detecting surface at a surface perpendicular to the optical axis, the pointing can be estimated from positions and correlations of the amount of light receiving levels. In other words, since improvement of the accuracy of pointing detection and accuracy of ranging can be attempted from the displacement of the detecting surface and the variation of amount of light receiving, miniaturization of system can also be realized.
