PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting chemical substance, capable of easily and inexpensively specifying the generation source of a volatile organic compound diffused inside a structure or inside a room. SOLUTION: This chemical substance detecting device 100 for detecting gas of a volatile chemical substance that diffused from an inspection object is equipped with a detection sheet 2, reacting chemically with the volatile chemical substance and changing the color, and an installation means (a spacer 1, a pressing plate 3) for installing the detection sheet 2 at a prescribed aperture from the inspection object.
