PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide illumination structure for a measuring instrument, capable of preventing light emitted from a light source from reaching directly to a dial, of unformizing a light modulation conditions visible from the surface of the dial, and of facilitating light modulation processing for the display part of the dial. SOLUTION: A combination meter 1 for a vehicle as the measuring instrument is constituted so as to have three light-shielding parts 30j provided in between an LED 37 and the dial, irradiated with the light emitted from the LED 37. In the combination meter 1, the light transmitted through an opening part 3e for illumination is made uniform by the irradiation in the the light-shielding parts 30j.
