PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide 3-(N-acylamino)-3-(4-tetrahydropyranyl)propenoic acid and an industrially suitable method for producing the same, capable of producing the 3-(N-acylamino)-3-(4-tetrahydropyranyl)propenoic acid in a high yield by a simple method. SOLUTION: This method for producing the 3-(N-acylamino)-3-(4-tetrahydropyranyl)propenoic acid in a high yield is characterized by performing the reaction of 3-(4-tetrahydropyranyl)-3-oxopropanoic acid ester with an amide compound in the presence of an acid.
