PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a riding type vehicle capable of effectively heat-insulating hot air stayed between a muffler and a cowl. SOLUTION: The riding type vehicle is provided with a vehicle body frame 101; a rear wheel 108 rotatably mounted to the vehicle body frame 101; an engine 106 mounted to the vehicle body frame 101; an approximately cylindrical muffler 115 connected to a rear exhaust pipe 113 extending from the engine 106 and provided on an oblique and upper side of the rear wheel 108; and a cover member 100 covering a side part of the muffler 115 in a longitudinal direction.
