An organic semiconductor compound, and an organic thin film transistor(TFT) containing the compound are provided to improve charge mobility and on/off ratio and to reduce leakage current. An organic semiconductor compound is represented by the formula 1, wherein A1 and A2 are independently C, Si or Ge; and R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently H, a linear, branched or cyclic C1-C30 alkyl group, a linear, branched or cyclic C2-C40 alkenyl group, a linear, branched or cyclic C3-C40 alkynyl group, a linear, branched or cyclic C1-C30 alkoxy group, a C6-C40 aryl group, a C4-C30 heteroaryl group, a C6-C30 ar(C1-C30)alkyl group, a C1-C30 alkoxy(C1-C30)alkyl group, a C1-C30 alkoxy(C2-C30)alkenyl group, a C6-C50 heteroaryl(C1-C30)alkyl group, a C1-C40 carbyl group, a hydro(C1-C40)carbyl group, a C6-C40 aryloxy group, a C1-C40 alkoxycarbonyl group, a C6-C40 aryloxycarbonyl group, a cyano group, a carbamoyl group, a haloformyl group, a formyl group, an isocyano group, an isocyanate group, a thiocyanate group, a thioisocyanate group, a mono or di(C1-C30)alkylamino group, a mono or di(C6-C30)arylamino group, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, or a silyl group, or can be crosslinked with the carbon atom of the adjacent anthracene ring to form a C1-C30 saturated or unsaturated ring.
