摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic microscope apparatus operating the drive part of a photoacoustic microscope at a high speed and realizing quiet operation environment and capable of scanning a sample at random by a laser beam and an imaging method. SOLUTION: In an photoacoustic microscope apparatus wherein a laser beam being an intermittent beam from a laser beam source 1 is modulated by a photomodulator 2 to irradiate the surface of the sample 6 arranged in the detection part of the photoacoustic cell 5 in a hermetically sealed container by an optical system to generate heat in the sample and this heat is changed to a sonic wave to be detected by an acoustic sensor 7 and the sonic wave is constituted as an image by the signal processing due to a data processor, a movable mirror 3 and a linear motor stage 8 operated when beam scanning and condensing is performed while accompanied by the relative positional fluctuations of laser beam with the sample 6 are provided to permit high speed quiet scanning over a wide range.
