TECHNIQUE FOR REMOVING NODULAR FORMS OF GOITER COMBINED WITH THYROID CANCER

The technique for removing the nodular forms of the goiter combined with the thyroid cancer comprises the separation of the lobe, the ligation of the blood vessels, and the resection of the lobe. Upon the ligation of the superior thyroid artery and vein, the lateral ligament is clamped followed by its dissection at the site where posterior thoracic node is fixed to the trachea. The lobe is elevated medially to the trachea followed by the resection of its posterior internal part and visualization of the recurrent nerve and parathyroid glands.
