<p>The process of the parent Specification is modified in that, while the reaction conditions necessary to produce a carbon black of preselected particle size and surface area are maintained substantially constant, the make hydrocarbon feed is injected into the first zone in the form of a conical spray whose angle is preselected on the basis of a pre-established relationship of spray angle to structure of carbon black produced under the reaction conditions. The spray may be in the form of a solid or hollow cone.</p> |
