The arrangement has a connection unit formed of clip and spear, for connecting a decoration element i.e. hub cap (10), on a motor vehicle. A bulged surface (16) of the element is positioned at inboard of a rear door of the vehicle, such that movement of the element in a disassembling direction is prevented to lock the element on the vehicle when the door is closed. The clip has a base plate positioned at an inner wall of the vehicle and a female connection part i.e. end part, at an outer wall of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for disassembling a decoration element of a motor vehicle.
