A method for the treatment of wire for musical strings involves austenization, short time supercooling, thermostatting at the intercritical interval and regulated cooling to 650-575 DEGREE C. In addition, rapid austenization of external layer in thickness to 0.25d is conducted, where d is wire diameter, and the core is heated due to the heat of external layer to the temperatures of 575-650 DEGREE C.
