A set-top box in a digital broadcasting system monitors the states of a cable network, a broadcasting channel and received data, and, when an abnormal state or an error of the received data occurs, transmits a notification message to the head end. The notification message contains "intrinsic" information relating to the error, such as IP address information of the management server corresponding to the head end and telephone number information of the manager who manages the digital broadcasting system through the management server. The head end may be a service-providing server which may output an alarm message when it receives the notification message. A service information processor may generate a service data report signal and/or an entitle management message conditional access data report signal. A data processor may generate a broadcast data report signal and/or an entitle control message conditional access data report signal. |
