A electric monitoring wire (5) extends along the cable (1) and includes an interruption (6) bridged by an electrically conductive connector part (7) for maintaining an electrical connection between the two parts of the wire on either side of the interruption. The connector part is secured to the guide post (4) from which the cable is suspended so that when a predetermined load on the cable is exceeded, the cable and monitoring wire fall from the post and the electrical connection across the interruption is broken. |
