PURPOSE: A radioactive carbon dioxide removing device is provided to maximize the time for contacting radioactive carbon dioxide with an absorbent to pass gas by two steps and to remove the concentration of the radioactive carbon dioxide in the exhaust gas down to a desirable level. CONSTITUTION: A radioactive carbon dioxide removing device is composed of a radioactive gas collecting tank(10) for collecting the radioactive gas emitted from an exhaust port of a nuclear power station; a C-14 cleaner(11) for removing and disposing the collected radioactive gas down to the concentration of carbon dioxide below 19ppm by using an absorbent; a carbon dioxide analyzer(12) for monitoring the concentration of carbon dioxide during disposal of the gas and opening automatically an exhaust valve if the concentration of carbon dioxide is lowered below a predetermined value; a humidity control unit(13) comprising a freezer compressor, a heat exchanger, and an expansion valve for the pretreatment of the collected gas; a thermometer(14) for controlling humidity by measuring the temperature of the gas circulated in a closed circuit; a blower(15) for exhausting the treated gas out of a chimney of the power station; a gas transfer pump(16) for carrying the gas in the closed circuit; and a clamp for combining separably the gas collecting tank and the C-14 cleaner in an emergency state of the power station. |
