FIELD: manufacture of composition materials, namely by impregnating at simultaneous chemical interaction, possibly in machine engineering, aerospace industry branch, special-designation devices and so on. ^ SUBSTANCE: carbon carbide-silicon composition material is produced by impregnating porous carbon blank at temperature 1700 - 1800°C with melt of silicon or silicon base alloys. Impregnation is realized with use of single-direction melt flow whose front propagates at once along the whole cross section of blank. Rate of immersing blank into melt is no more than 10 cm/min. ^ EFFECT: improved operational properties of article due to uniform properties of blank. ^ 1 ex |
