FIELD: protective materials. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing priming coat for steel that is designated for assembly and applying upper coat. Steel in grounded with priming coat comprising a silicon dioxide-base binding substance containing silicon dioxide aqueous sol stabilized with aluminum oxide and, optionally, small amount of alkaline metal silicate. Indicated binding agent shows the mole ratio SiO2/M2O = at least 6:1 wherein M means the total amount of alkaline metal ions and ammonium ions.
