FIELD: metal working, namely applying wear-resistant coatings on cutting tools. ^ SUBSTANCE: wear-resistant coating on base of titanium nitride or carbonitride containing chrome and aluminum as alloying component is applied by vacuum-plasma deposition process. Said process is realized by means of two arranged mutually opposite built-up cathodes containing titanium and chrome with use of third built-up cathode arranged between said two cathodes and containing titanium and aluminum. ^ EFFECT: enhanced adhesion strength of coating, improved effectiveness of cutting tool with such coating. ^ 2 ex, 1 tbl |
