PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which can correctly detect that a liquid is completely consumed, and to provide a method for detecting a remaining quantity of liquid. SOLUTION: The liquid container is equipped with a bag-shaped main pack 11 which stores the liquid to be supplied to a liquid consuming device 5, and a bag-shaped sensor pack 12 which detects a remaining quantity state of the liquid of the main pack 11 when the liquid supplied from the main pack 11 to the liquid consuming device 5 is temporarily held halfway. A quantity of the liquid held by the sensor pack 12 changes according to the liquid remaining quantity of the main pack 11, and this change state appears in a shape change or the like of the sensor pack 12.
