PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce terminals exclusive for examination to suppress occurrence of problems on mounting and the increase of cost with respect to an electro-optical apparatus such as a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: An address signal ADR is a three-bit signal and is capable of designating 8 addresses. A decoding circuit 300 generates selection signals d1 to d5 by address values 0 to 4. Selection signals d1 to d5 designate pixels. In the case of address value 7, the decoding circuit 300 makes a mode designation signal TEST active. Surplus addresses being not necessary for pixel designation are used to designate the mode designation signal TEST. Consequently, it is unnecessary to arrange exclusive terminals for taking in the mode designation signal TEST, and the number of terminals is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
