PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent seizure of a vane pump in relation to improvement of the vane pump used as hydraulic power source for vehicular power steering device or the like. SOLUTION: This pump consists of a rotor 11 rotating as one unit with a drive shaft, a plurality of vanes 12 provided on the rotor in such a manner that the same can project and contract in a radial direction, a cam ring 13 having the rotor and the vane installed and rotating the rotor with making a tip of the vane slide on an inner circumference surface, a body 3 pivotally supporting the drive shaft and having the cam ring installed therein, a side cam plate 1 put between the body and the cam ring and having a port leading working fluid delivered from an inside of the cam ring to a oil chamber in the body provided thereon, and a cover 4 joined on a body surface to cover an opening end of the body and pivotally supporting one end of the drive shaft and sliding on the rotor and the vane, and is provided with an oil seal 7 on the sliding surface of the cover and the rotor.
